Right Age for Marriage

Marriageable Age
Marriageable age is a topic, which has always been in question. Parents start worrying about our marriage, as soon as we complete our graduation or school for that matter. In case of Indian brides, finding the right match has always been a concern for parents and they start looking for the same at a very young age. In earlier times, education and self- dependence were considered lame excuses for delaying Indian marriages and girls were forced to marry at a very young age. But now with the enactment of laws for marriageable age, parameters have been set for our Indian families to marry their children at respective ages.

Laws have obviously made a big difference in deciding the marriageable age, but mind set up is the most important thing which decides, where you are ready for marriage or not. You need to be mentally, physically and financially sound to bind your soul with another. A sense of responsibility and emotional connect has to come from your inside, to do justice to the sacred bond of marriage. Peer pressure is just not the right thing, when it comes to marriage. You must make your parents understand what you want in life and how do u see yourself growing in future. This helps in settlement of most of the problems in your life. Also, matrimony search these days, have become easier with the growing popularity of online matrimonial sites. These sites help you reaching your prospective bride or groom in flicker of seconds.

Factors like independent, highly qualified, well- settled, mature, understanding are few which tops our preference, when we look out for marriage match. Therefore, before doing so, we should make sure, that we ourselves match these basic factors.

Above all, we should be well prepared for accepting someone in our life and spending our entire life with him happily.

I agree the most when u say that one needs to be mentally, physically and financially ready to enter the sacred bond of marriage. I too believe that our own mental make up and not peer pressure should decide the marriageable age.

Great Article About Right Age for Marriage.

Marriageable age (or marriage age) is the age at which a person is allowed to marry, either as of right or subject to parental or other forms of consent. The age and other requirements vary between countries, but generally it is set at 18, although most jurisdictions allow marriage at slightly younger ages with parental and/or judicial approval, or in case of pregnancy. The marriage age should not be confused with the age of majority or the age of consent, or the actual age at first marriage in a particular society.
