Jewelry of the Bride


Bride and bridegroom are definitely the center of attraction in nay wedding. Bride particularly pays extra attention towards her dressing and makeup, and the most importantly, the jewelry. No matter to which religion or which community the bride belongs, jewelry has always kept a very important place. In the Hindu community of India, the jewelry is the related to the some aspects of the married life of the couple.

The most important and costly element of the bridal jewelry is the neckpiece and ear ring set. The set is generally made up of gold and is studded with precious stones like diamonds, ruby, emerald, etc, and also the semi precious stones that give the beautiful look while adding to the costs of the set.

Another important jewelry is the bangles, generally a bride wears bangles made up of glass or metal, and they are also paired with gold bangles. The increasing prices of gold have made it pretty tough for the middle and lower middle class families to afford the gold jewelry.

Finger rings beautify the fingers are the bride. The modern bride love wearing platinum and diamond bands, apart from traditional gold rings.

Mangtika and nath are some of the most important components of the bridal jewelry in Hindu matrimonial. Nath symbolizes holiness of the marriage and is made up of gold/silver and has small pearls and other precious stones.

Another important element is Bindi that is worn by the bride on her forehead, in between both the eyebrows. Red round bindis have been traditionally popular, but the changing trends have brought diversity in the style of a bindi. Now the bindis are available in a number of shapes and size, and also colours. The brides mostly select bindis that match with the wedding trousseau.
